ECIA Conference - Cardiff May 2025

​PatientsCann UK is honoured to participate in the Engineering Construction Industry Association (ECIA) Conference on 21st May 2025 at the Hilton Cardiff. Our founder, Mohammad Wasway, will deliver a presentation addressing the critical intersection of medical cannabis use and employment within the engineering construction industry.

The engineering construction sector faces unique challenges regarding workforce health and safety, particularly concerning employees who are legally prescribed medical cannabis. Mohammad's insights will highlight the necessity for employers to understand and accommodate the rights of these patients, ensuring compliance with the Equality Act 2010. This includes making reasonable adjustments for employees with disabilities, which encompasses many medical cannabis patients dealing with chronic conditions.​

Furthermore, Mohammad will reference key findings from his publications, "The Use of Prescription Cannabis at Work" and "The Use of Prescription Cannabis in Buildings," which provide comprehensive guidance on managing prescribed cannabis use in professional settings. These works emphasise the importance of developing clear policies that balance legal obligations, workplace safety, and employee well-being.​
