PatientsCann UK Statement on the ACMD Review of Medical Cannabis
The ACMD is reviewing cannabis-based products for medicinal use. This is a rare opportunity for patients, carers, and healthcare professionals to tell the truth about what medical cannabis access looks like in the UK, and what must change.
Patients were promised NHS access in 2018. Only a handful of NHS prescriptions have ever been issued.
Too many patients are treated as criminals for using their prescribed medicine in public spaces.
Research remains underfunded and narrowly focused, leaving clinicians without the evidence base to prescribe confidently.

PatientsCann UK urges all stakeholders to respond to this review. The ACMD needs to hear directly from the people this policy affects most.
