England & Wales
Prosecutions are handled by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS). Drug driving is governed by Section 5A Road Traffic Act 1988. Policy advocacy is directed to the Home Secretary and NPCC. MP representatives are addressed for expungement reform.
Scotland
Prosecutions are handled by the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS). The statutory drug driving defence is found in Section 5A Road Traffic Act 1988. Policy advocacy is addressed to the Lord Advocate. MSPs and Scottish Ministers handle expungement reform.
Northern Ireland
Prosecutions are handled by the Public Prosecution Service (PPS). Drug driving falls under Article 15A Road Traffic (NI) Order 1995, which mirrors Section 5A. Policy advocacy is directed to MLAs and the Department of Justice. MLAs and MPs handle expungement reform.
Channel Islands & Isle of Man
The Channel Islands (Jersey, Guernsey) and Isle of Man are Crown Dependencies — they have separate legal systems from the UK. Prescribed cannabis access and legal frameworks differ by island.
