Founder & MD
Mohammad Ismail Wasway
"Ish"
Ish founded PatientsCann UK out of his own experience navigating the UK's medical cannabis landscape. As a patient himself, he saw first-hand the barriers, misinformation, and lack of peer support that patients face, and set out to change that. Alongside leading the organisation's strategic direction, Ish collates resources and writes guidances, while also managing and developing the website, web app, social media, and all digital content across those platforms. He mostly works behind the scenes, quietly supporting his team and the wider patient community.

Saleem Aziz
"Sal"
Sal is Director at PatientsCann UK, bringing professional expertise from his roles as IT Projects Change and Training Lead and Disability Staff Network Chair at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, where he also serves as a Bank Administrator. His background in health service change management and disability advocacy gives PatientsCann UK a strong grounding in how healthcare institutions work, and how to navigate them on behalf of patients.

David Case
VolunteerA retired lawyer and elected Liberal Democrat councillor in Wales, David brings legal expertise and civic experience to his role as a volunteer. As a patient himself, he uses that background to help others understand their rights and navigate the challenges that can come with being a medical cannabis patient in the UK.
Pedro
Volunteer & Discord ModPedro is one of the people who keeps our community running day to day. As a Discord moderator with Zarren, he helps foster a safe, welcoming space where patients can ask questions, share experiences, and support one another, free from stigma and misinformation.
Zarren
Volunteer & Discord ModAlongside Pedro, Zarren helps keep the PatientsCann UK Discord community a positive and supportive place for patients. Whether it's welcoming new members, answering questions, or keeping conversations on track, Zarren is a steady and trusted presence in the community.
Shaun
VolunteerShaun joined the PatientsCann UK volunteer team bringing genuine passion for patient advocacy and peer support. He continues to be a valued presence within the team and the wider community.
Lydia Conroy
VolunteerLydia serves as Disability Staff Network Chair at Croydon Council, bringing a strong commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and the rights of people with disabilities. She volunteered at our We, The Patients event in November 2025 and her contribution was invaluable. We are glad to have her as part of the team.
