About the role

PatientsCann UK is an organisation dedicated to advancing the medical cannabis industry through patient-centred education and engagement, offering a range of services, including consulting, research, and advocacy, to support both patients and industry professionals. The success of our mission depends on the support of dedicated volunteers like you.

Our volunteers plays an essential role in raising awareness of medical cannabis and increasing engagement with our organisation. In this role you will work closely with the management team to support the organisation. This role description is flexible to encourage a wide range of skills and experiences to contribute to this role. You will have the option to volunteer in any area as agreed between you and PatientsCann.

The success of PatientsCann UK hinges on the support of volunteers like you. You will be passionate about empowering patients, spreading awareness, and making a positive impact on the medical cannabis community. Volunteers will play a crucial role in helping us reach a broader audience and ensure the smooth running of the organisation.

Your Commitments

  • Maintain confidentiality with respect to the organisation’s sensitive information and in line with GDPR.
  • Let your volunteer manager know if you are having any problems or if you have any complaints, concerns or feedback.
  • Meet agreed time commitments and give reasonable notice when you’re not available so that arrangements can be made.

The Volunteer Event and Campaigning Assistant plays an essential role in raising awareness of medical cannabis and increasing engagement with our organisation. In this role you will work closely with the management team to support at events and conferences in your local area, and optionally across the UK. You will also play a crucial role in raising awareness by engaging with your local community.

This role description is flexible to encourage a wide range of skills and experiences to contribute to this role.

The success of PatientsCann UK hinges on the support of volunteers like you. You will be passionate about empowering patients, spreading awareness, and making a positive impact on the medical cannabis community. Volunteers will play a crucial role in helping us reach a broader audience and ensure the smooth running of the organisation. 

Main Duties

  • Support the running of PatientsCann’s events
  • Meet and greet and engage with event attendees and partners
  • Setup equipment, stands and displays
  • Basic food and drink preparation
  • Canvassing and leafleting in your local area
  • Engage with local communities to raise awareness of medical cannabis and our services

Skills Required

  • Great communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic IT skills including Office
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Experience with Audio/Visual equipment and basic food preparation desirable

The Front-end Web Developer plays an essential role in developing and maintaining the Front-end of PatientsCann’s website, ensuring this is functional, visually appealing, accessible and up-to-date. 

In this role you will work closely with the management team and Back-end Developer utilising a number of skills and technologies including WordPress and SEO. The role is home based and can be completed anywhere across the UK.

This role description is flexible to encourage a wide range of skills and experiences to contribute to this role.

You will be passionate about empowering patients, spreading awareness, and making a positive impact on the medical cannabis community. Volunteers will play a crucial role in helping us reach a broader audience and ensure the smooth running of the organisation. 

Main Duties

  • Use tools like WordPress to create user-friendly and accessible web pages
  • Maintain and improve website front-end
  • Collaborate with back-end developers and management to improve usability
  • Write functional requirement documents and guides
  • Create quality mockups and prototypes
  • Help back-end developers with coding and troubleshooting
  • Ensure high quality graphic standards and brand consistency
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies

Skills Required

  • Great Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Strong IT skills including Office, Adobe and other Media software
  • Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery
  • Proficient understanding of front-end development tools, including WordPress
  • Knowledge of SEO principles
  • Familiarity with browser testing and debugging
  • Understanding of layout and design aesthetics

  • Back-end development experience desirable

The Volunteer Digital and Marketing Assistant plays an essential role in raising awareness of medical cannabis and increasing engagement with our organisation through our digital platforms. 

In this role you will work closely with the management team to create and implement a wide range of marketing activities including social media management, website management and content creation. The role is home based, however we seek volunteers from across the UK to support at events.

This role description is flexible to encourage a wide range of skills and experiences to contribute to this role.

The success of PatientsCann UK hinges on the support of volunteers like you. You will be passionate about empowering patients, spreading awareness, and making a positive impact on the medical cannabis community. Volunteers will play a crucial role in helping us reach a broader audience and ensure the smooth running of the organisation.

  • Support the running of PatientsCann’s social media platforms
  • Create written and visual content and media
  • Support the creation of digital marketing campaigns
  • Update and support the maintenance of the PatientsCann website
  • Report on Social Media campaign and platform effectiveness
  • Support content creation and marketing at events
